Several evidence-based studies have shown that obese teens have a higher incidence of mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, and poor self-esteem than their non-obese peers.
A relationship between weight status and low self-esteem has also been demonstrated. Low self-esteem has been associated with several psychological, physical, and social consequences that may influence successful adolescent development and the transition to adulthood.
A recent study, published July 16th in Human Molecular Genetics, found that having a higher body mass index (BMI) increased the likelihood of depression, even in the absence of poor metabolic health, and increased risk for weight-related diseases, including type 2 diabetes and heart disease. Obesity and depression have a bidirectional relationship — that is, having obesity does appear to cause depression, and depression does cause obesity.
Our mission is to coach, mentor, and train adolescents to become productive members of society and enhance the world. With the rise in obesity, anxiety, depression, and chronic illnesses; it is paramount that we teach our youth at the critical ages of 10 – 12 years of age the importance of health and mental awareness. ‘All In’ will accomplish this mission by first, Education followed by Execution. Utilizing a variety of training methods, resources, and personnel, we plan to Strengthen Weaknesses and Sharpen Strengths to develop our future communities.
To develop the next generation of leaders through health, wellness, and mental preparedness. 'All In' is a concept that is applicable to all facets of life such as self-awareness, team-ability, self-discipline, leadership, and wellness. We are taking an innovative approach to youth development by utilizing applied sciences to enhance cognitive development through physical activity.
